Theous Jones
Theous Terryel Jones, a highly esteemed freelance drummer, music educator, and entrepreneur, based in Durham, North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from North Carolina Central University.
His expertise lies in Marching Percussion, Jazz combos, Big Bands, and Concert Bands. Currently, he performs across North Carolina and the Eastern United States in various ensembles, jazz collectives, and the Chapel Hill Philharmonic Orchestra. Notably, he was a finalist in the DC Jazz Festival 2020. Theous has also graced the stages of PBS Music at the Museum Series and been featured on Netflix’s “Our Kind of People.”
Currently, Theous serves as the Percussion Director and Designer at Apex Friendship High School. Additionally, he operates Music & Rock School, a music lessons studio where he nurtures the next generation of drummers.
Theous is an endorser of Vic Firth Sticks and Mallets.
